Hi!
Wow, it's been over two months since my last post, and I'd be lying if I said I hadn't missed it!
As much as I love writing, I have unfortunately been going through a lot over the past few months, especially with a tough semester of university about to wrap up. If any of them are reading this, I would like to thank my genuine friends and family for all their support. I never would have made it through semester without them, and am grateful beyond belief.
I've still been following baseball throughout my absence, however, and it's been great! The World Baseball Classic in March was one of the most entertaining sporting events I have followed, and the Blue Jays are currently playing their 8th game of the season at Rate Field against the Chicago White Sox.
I'm also headed to my first game of the season this Monday, where the Blue Jays will open up a series looking for revenge against the Dodgers. Looking forward to checking out all the additions around Rogers Centre for the franchise's 50th season!
As for this blog, I was thinking about shifting from daily coverage to more historical content. Firstly, as much as I enjoy watching the Blue Jays, I still follow Major League Baseball as a whole religiously. Rather than keeping up with everything regarding one team, I prefer watching everyone, and I often find myself watching games which I have zero rooting interest in. Also, with the Blue Jays' 50th season being this year, there is plenty to talk about in regards to the franchise's storied past. I am a history student at university, and I genuinely love writing about the past when I am not held to the draconian rules of academia. No page limits, MLA formatting, or having to use exclusively "academic sources". I could write a book about my hatred of academia, but this is a baseball blog, and I'd rather spend my time writing about something that makes me happy. Being able to write whatever I want, whenever I want this summer will help to keep me busy, improve my writing skills, and share my love of the Blue Jays!
My semester will be complete towards the end of April, and after that I plan on writing as much as possible. Until then, all the best, and go Jays!
